Your entrance ticket into higher education or for professional registration in an English speaking environment
If you need to pass the IELTS Academic test to apply for higher education or professional registration in an English speaking environment, you are in good hands at DNK Tuition. I am an expert at preparing candidates for this test and I can help you to achieve the score you are aiming for.
I specialise in preparing students for the IELTS test which has been my main duty since April 2016 after I started working as an EAL (English as an Additional Language) at a prestigious independent day and boarding school in the UK.
I have successfully prepared many international students from all over the world for the IELTS test and several students have gone on to study at Oxford or Cambridge where they needed a score of at least 7.0 in each section of the test. All of my students achieved or exceeded the required scores.
With IELTS, as with any standardised test, it is important that you have the appropriate language level to achieve your required score but it is equally important that you know about the test format.
I will help you to achieve an IELTS score at the top end of your (language) ability because you will be very well prepared for and knowledgable about the test. Practice plays an important part in being successful at standardised tests. If you do not put hard work and effort into your preparation you might not reach the IELTS score you are aiming for. You need to have automatised the different processes so that you can work in your comfort zone on the test day.
It is important to know about the requirements of each task in order to receive high marks. It is equally important to know for what you will be penalized as my experience has shown that this can sometimes lead to students not receiving the score they were hoping for.
During my lessons you will receive all necessary information about the test and how to practice each task. I will give you specific and individualised feedback on how to improve a certain aspect that you are struggling with or if you show a weakness in any area. My expert knowledge about language learning and teaching enables me to give you effective advice and feedback with which you will be able to increase your IELTS score. This is something that no practice material can do for you and a big reason why my students are so successful.
Based on my experience, students mainly need support with either the speaking and/or the writing section (writing task 1 and/or 2).
The writing tasks are generally the parts of the test the students have the most difficulty with and that is why it is very important to have good understanding of what you need to do in order to do well here.
Just to give you a practical example, if you are a Japanese or Chinese native speaker and struggle with including the indefinite and definite articles in your writing (which is not surprising as your languages do not have such a grammatical feature), I can provide you with easy to follow and effective advice on how you can avoid this mistake. 'Basic' mistakes like this can dramatically lower your score in a writing task.
After an initial consultation session and my evaluation of your skills, I can give you an estimate of how many lessons I think you will need to accomplish the score you are aiming for. Some students (with a language level of C1 or above) only need a few lessons where others might need more preparation to achieve a score of 7.0 or above.
Your willingness to work hard and your ability to listen to my feedback and put my recommendations into practice are the essential components for your success.
If you need to pass the IELTS test successfully, look no further because DNK Tuition is the right place for you.
